Sunday Morning Learning Opportunities

Adult Bible Study Series – facilitated by Elaine Hellweg

This group gathers each Sunday at 10:45 to explore the biblical message and how to apply it to daily life. The Winter study will focus on the theme of ‘Faith in Action.’ The study follows the Uniform Series, enabling Christians across the globe to study the same Scripture and topics during the same week throughout the year. The group meets in a first floor room across from the elevator.

Bethel Book Study – facilitated by Jeff Fothergill

This group gathers each Sunday at 10:45 (in room #3) to learn how to put their faith in action as they study books by various Christian authors and dig deeper into Scripture.  By the end of October, the group will complete their study of an “Invitation to Romans” by Abingdon Press. Next up will be a two week study by Louie Giglio called “How Great Is Our God.”

Contemporary Issues – facilitated by Karl Schoenefeld

This group gathers each Sunday from 8:00-8:45 am (in the Christian Activity Center) to participate in a video-based study from Church of the Resurrection (a United Methodist Church in the Kansas City area). The group also discusses current events.

Finding Hope and Healing Your Heart – facilitated by Pastor Dan

This group gathers at 11:00 AM on the last Sunday of the month in room 6.  The group is intended

for those who have experienced the death of a loved one.  It will help guide, encourage, and support you in your unique journey of grief so that you might experience healing and discover renewed hope and purpose for life.  It involves both an opportunity to learn about the grieving process and experience the support and encouragement of others.  It is not a therapy or counseling group.  We will utilize the book and companion journal entitled “Understanding Your Grief” by Dr. Alan Wolfelt.
