Sunday Morning Learning Opportunities
Adult Bible Study Series – facilitated by Ed and Cindy Aderman and Elaine Hellweg
This group gathers each Sunday at 10:45 to explore the biblical message and how to apply it to daily life. The Winter study will focus on the theme of ‘Sacred Gifts and Holy Gatherings.’ The study follows the Uniform Series, enabling Christians across the globe to study the same Scripture and topics during the same week throughout the year. The group meets in a first floor room across from the elevator
Bethel Book Study – facilitated by Jeff Fothergill
This group gathers each Sunday at 10:45 (in room #3) to learn how to put their faith in action as they study books by various Christian authors and dig deeper into Scripture. Currently the group is studying Francis Chan’s book, “Multiply: Disciples making Disciples.” The study seeks to encourage and equip people so that we can fulfill our mission to make new disciples of Jesus Christ.
Contemporary Issues – facilitated by Karl Schoenefeld
This group gathers each Sunday from 8:00-8:45 am (in the Christian Activity Center) to participate in a video-based study from Church of the Resurrection (a United Methodist Church in the Kansas City area). The group also discusses current events.
Digging Deeper – facilitated by Pastor Dan
This is a new multi-generational group that will gather to dig deeper into Scripture and the Sunday message seeking to help each other become more and more Christ-like in our day-to-day lives. In December the group will meet in the northeast corner of the fellowship hall at 10:45.
Other Learning Opportunities
Gambrill Gardens Study Group – facilitated by Ed and Cindy Aderman
This group meets at 6:30 pm on Thursday evenings at Gambrill Gardens for in depth Bible study. The current study, “Disciple II: Into the World Into the World,” offers a deeper examination of Genesis, Exodus, Luke, and Acts, emphasizing the rhythm of coming to God and going for God.
Discipleship Group – facilitated by Pastor Dan
This group gathers each Tuesday digging deeper into Scripture to better understand God’s story and message and challenging each other to grow in our faith and practice. The study involves daily Scripture reading and reflection and weekly discussions. Currently the group using the curriculum entitled, “Jesus in the Gospels,” a 30-week study of Jesus’ life and teachings.
