As the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays approach, families seek to reconnect. So many of us do that in the kitchen! Pull out those recipe cards with a favorite aunt’s cookie recipe or grandma’s scrumptious cake! Those may not be your “go to” recipes, but more than likely you have one or two recipes that just make the holidays more special for your family.
Every year, Circle of Concern provides Thanksgiving baskets to their families. The last several years, they’ve tried to provide pantry “staples” for their families so that they can have that holiday experience as well. Over the course of the last two years, Bethel UMC has provided over 300 Baking Bags to Circle of Concern---and we’re ready to do it again!
If you would like to assist us in our collections, we’re collecting the following items:
1 lb. box Baking Soda
12 oz. Baking Powder
2.0 to 2.5 oz. Ground Cinnamon
2 oz. Pure Vanilla Extract
48 fl. oz. Pure Vegetable Oil
5 lb. All-Purpose Flour
4 lb. Granulated Sugar
Items may be brought to Bethel during our business hours (Tuesday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.) or join us for worship (Sundays at 9:25 a.m) and drop them off then. We hope you’ll join us in blessing other families this holiday season!
